8 Car Hacks That Make Your Life Easy!

There are hacks for everything, you name it and it’s available on the internet. From cleaning carpets, folding clothes, sewing, baking, cooking to living your life.

So, obviously there had to be hacks for vehicles as well.

Here they are!

8 Car Hacks to Make Your Life Easier

1. Cover the Wiper Blades with Stockings

If your car is old, it’s pretty evident that the wiper blades are worn out.

In case of severe damage, the blades might fall off your car and damage the windshield of your car.

If you are driving in bad weather, it’s more likely that the bare metal of your broken wiper will scratch the windshield.

To avoid this, here’s a great temporary solution.

Simply wrap a stocking tightly around the wiper so that the bare metal doesn't rub on the glass and it simultaneously removes dirt and debris.

2. Cloudy Headlights? Use Toothpaste!

Over the years, the headlights turn cloudy.

You can either replace them or clean them using two things - toothpaste and a rag.

Apply some toothpaste on the headlight and scrub the lights with a rag.

It is helpful in removing a thick layer of the grime and also fills in the scratches, if any.

This is probably the easiest way to clean them.

3. Use Olive Oil as a Dashboard Cleaner

Many people are big fans of using olive oil to keep their skin looking good.

But did you know that you can use it to clean the dashboard of your car?

Yes, it's true!

You can use it along with coffee filters, which work as a polisher to clean and polish the dashboard.

Pour a little amount of olive oil on the filter and wipe.

It removes all the dust and leaves your car's interior shiny.

4. Bid Adieu to Bumper Stickers

Want to remove a bumper sticker that you liked, but not anymore?

You can’t peel it off because it leaves some residue behind and it can scratch off the paint.

Use a newspaper and water to melt it off.

Leave a wet newspaper on the residue of the bumper sticker for about 15-20 minutes.

It will get damp and you can easily wipe or scrape it off with a credit card.

5.  Repairing Scratches

The one thing that most people hate about their vehicle are scratches.

And not everyone wants to or can spend tons of money to remove them.

In case the damage isn't too prominent, you can use a nail paint that matches the color of your car and use it to remove any scratch on your car

This is a very helpful way of saving those dollars.

6.  Use Clear Nail Polish to Cover Window Damage

Sometimes while traveling small stones or other debris on the road may hit the windshield of your car.

This can leave cracks behind.

Replacing the whole window would be very expensive, plus it may not be needed.

A cheap fix is clear nail polish.

Apply a thin layer very carefully on the damaged area.

Let it dry and the crack will become almost invisible to your eyes.

It also helps in preventing the crack from growing as well saves money.

7. Use a Pill Bottle for Storage

Loose change everywhere in the car is universal.

So, instead of hunting for change when you need it, it’s better to have one place to store it.

Convert any old pill bottles into a container to hold all your dimes.

You can decorate them or label them as you wish.

8. Hand Sanitizers to Free Frozen Locks

Frozen car doors and locks is a common occurrence in the winter when vehicles are parked outside.

If the car doors are frozen, use hand sanitizer on the door. The alcohol present in the sanitizer will melt the ice away.

In case you have a severe issue than this, don’t try to fix it with hacks you find online because not all work like they should.

Your vehicle needs to be up-to-date for your own safety. Therefore, don't experiment just to save a few bucks.

Being the owner of your car, you always know when's the right time to consult a professional.
